How long can a buyer finance a vehicle?
There are several private auto loan lengths available from our network of lenders, ranging from 12 months to 84 months. The term you choose ultimately depends on what payment makes the most sense for your budget.
Can a buyer with no credit or bad credit obtain financing?
Although you will have to qualify for the auto loan, we have partnered with DealFi Direct and have access to its network of reliable lenders. We can help first time buyers and people with different types of credit situations. To determine your options, simply apply and we will pair you with the most competitive vehicle financing option available.
Is financing on for sale by owner transactions available outside of Utah?
Not at this time. It is currently available in most of the cities located in Cache, Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah counties. More geographic regions will be added soon.
If the seller still owes money on the vehicle being sold, how quickly will the loan be paid off?
Outstanding auto loans are paid off ASAP. We provide updates and confirmations throughout the process.
What government forms are included?
All documents required to finalize the sale and transfer a clean title in Utah is included.

- Odometer Statement (TC-891)
- Application for Title (TC-656)
- Application for Duplicate Title (TC-123, only needed if the original title is lost, stolen or damaged)
Please note that prefilled paperwork is not available at this time for vehicles titled outside of Utah.
What do I do with the completed sale forms?
Once the paperwork is in order, you'll need to file it with the Department of Motor Vehicles and pay the fee to transfer the vehicle title. This can be done electronically through Utah's Motor Vehicle Portal, but if you prefer to complete the process in person, you can schedule an appointment at the appropriate DMV location.
How much does it cost to transfer the vehicle title?
The state of Utah charges $6 for vehicle title fees (including correction or name change title fees). Sales tax varies at the city and county level. Refer to Utah State Tax Commission's rate chart for a complete breakdown.
How do I get the seller’s information?
You will need to get this information from the seller and obtain his or her signature on the applicable forms.
